The CCN 2011 Annual General Meeting (reporting on the year end March 2010) will be held Green Estate, Sheffield, Saturday 5th March 2011 at 9.30am as part of our 2011 Annual Conference.

Invitation for New Trustees

Guidance

CCN are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with the time and skills to become a Trustee, we currently have up to four vacancies on our Management Committee and would like to invite anyone interested to get in touch. At this stage, there is no formal application process – just get in touch and tell us a bit about yourself.

We are looking to recruit people with a range of skills and experiences that will best support the ongoing governance and steering of the charity. However, we are open to applications from individuals from of all backgrounds and experiences that:

  • are committed to the purpose, objects and values of CCN
  • will contribute constructively to discussions and meetings
  • understand the importance and purpose of meetings, and be committed to preparing for them adequately and attending them regularly
  • will actively contribute to the development of policy and direction of CCN

Time Required

  • Quarterly half-day face-to-face Management Committee meetings per year (usually the 3rd Thursday of the month, held in Birmingham)
  • Monthly online video conference Management Committee meetings (usually the 3rd Thursday of the month, approximately 2 hours). Anyone concerned about the technical aspects of this will be given full support (but it’s really very easy!)
  • Some time between meetings for reading papers, reports etc. following up matters arising from meetings, and contributing to general discussions.

Expenses

  • Trustees are entitled to claim appropriate travel expenses for attending meetings or otherwise in connection with the discharge of their duties, on production of receipts.

Restrictions

  • Applicants must be over 18, and have no reason why he/she cannot be a charity trustee the provisions of the Charities Acts.
  • Trustees must not act solely to represent the separate interests of a member organisation other than to develop communication and co-operation between individual members and their organisations.
