Dean Community Compost, working with Newnham on Severn Allotment Association will be clearing an old burn pile to make a potential site for community composting. We have a digger coming on friday 7th May. On Saturday the 8th May allotment holders, members of Dean Community Compost as well as any local householders and those interested will be there to tidy up with wheelbarrows and rakes and to have a workshop on composting. Light refreshments will be available. The workshop will be at 12 noon and cover how and why to compost at home and on an allotment. The benefits of composting as opposed to burning green waste and how to use compost as a peat replacement.
