Hot Rotters
Community Composting is often perceived as only the composting of garden waste, on a small scale, with a voluntary workforce and minimal technical imput. There is nothing wrong with this basic model of local management of compostable wastes, however the perception, that this is all Community Composting can be, is wrong. This section is intended to challenge that perception, and generate ideas and opportunities by showcasing projects which go beyond that basic model.
This section is still quite new, so at the moment there are only the following here, more will be added in the future.
- Fairfield Materials Management:
FMM operate on Smithfield Wholesale Market in Manchester, sustainably managing the markets fruit and vegetable waste. - East London Community Recycling Partnership:
the first Community Composting project to receive approval from the State Veterinary Service under the Animal By-Products Regulations for it's composting of kitchen and catering waste.
