This session explores land, soil fertility & food related issues both now and in the future - including Local Food - a guide to applying; local food production; and future food security.

A range of workshop will be offered in two sessions over the weekend - including: composting toilets; wood recycling; Women's Environmental Network talking about food and community cohesion; LATS as a lever to Local Authority support; commercial food waste; carbon matters and putting the Growing with Compost toolkit into action for your project.
11:30 Seminar: What about the weather?
A look at the wider implications of sustainable waste management in a controlled carbon future - including Julian Parfitt talking about Home Composting and it's role in an integrated approach to organic waste management.
17:50 Afternoon Tea & Exhibition, also time to explore Lee Valley Park
19.00 Dinner - Followed by a relaxed evening filled with music, film and good company.
Sunday :
9:30 Seminar: Is there more to life than compost?
Natural partners and extensions to composting - including Richard Mehmed of the National Wood Recycling Network and Ben Brangwyn of the Transition Town Network.
